Helse Vest - Western Norway Regional Health Authority
Helse Vest owns and runs the public hospitals in the three western counties in Norway: Rogaland, Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane.
Additionally, Helse Vest has made special agreements on the management with various specialists and institutions and is separated into four geographical units:
• Helse Stavanger
• Helse Fonna (Nord-Rogaland og Sunnhordland)
• Helse Bergen
• Helse Førde
Additionally all the hospital pharmacies has been merged into one (Apotekene Vest).
Each of the four health units has the responsibility of its employees, meaning 14 000 health workers and 20 000 special staff all in all.
The budget for Helse Vest is currently estimated at about 10 billion NOK. Helse Vest is comprising approximately 45 public hospitals and institutions.
