WESTCOR-POC
The main aim of the Aiming toWards Evidence baSed inTerpretation of Cardiac biOmarkers in patients pResenting with chest pain using Point Of Care testing (WESTCOR-POC) study are to investigate if an accelerated diagnostic protocol using hs-cTnI POC testing will reduce length of stay in the ED.
The protocol should have comparable 30 days rates of death, MI and urgent revascularization, with improved cost-effectiveness and similar patient satisfaction as with current standard-of-care. The study has also establish a biobank and aim to investigate if troponin assays differentiating between “intact” and total troponin molecules have increased diagnostic specificity for NSTEMI. The data collection is estimated to be completed in February 2024 and the first publication is expected in 2025. For more information see WESTCOR POC
