Research stay at Karolinska Institute
Phd fellow at Forhelse SFI (Center for Research-based Innovation), Beate Standal visited Karolinska Institute and Internetpsychiatry in Stockholm with a 3 month stay from Mai to August 2025.

Purpose of the mobility
The research stay at Karolinska Institute aimed to strengthen international collaboration and enhance the quality of Beate Standals PhD project within digital mental health and implementation research. The mobility supported strategic goals of knowledge exchange, network building, and institutional modernisation.
Enhanced network and visibility for Forhelse SFI
The stay contributed significantly to Forhelse SFI, by facilitating knowledge transfer in digital mental health and implementation science. It strengthened international networks through active engagement with leading research groups and supported strategic alignment in healthcare innovation. In addition, it enhanced Forhelse SFI’s visibility within international academic and clinical research environments, positioning the centre as a relevant actor in the global digital health landscape.

Added value for Beate Standals PhD project
For Standals project, the mobility improved research quality through exposure to advanced methodologies and expert feedback. It also strengthened academic communication skills and enabled the integration of best practices from the host institution’s projects into the PhD work. The stay broadened perspectives within digital mental health and allowed for substantial progress on the thesis, including the writing and structuring of key sections.
The research stay resulted in a submitted paper
During the visit to Karolinska Institute, one paper was submitted for publication, and a first draft of a second paper was completed. Beate Standal held presentations at the SwesRII conference and in Viktor Kaldo’s research group, contributing to the international dissemination of the project. Furthermore, participation in meetings and seminars with the research groups of Christian Rück and Viktor Kaldo provided valuable insights and feedback.
The stay also facilitated networking with leading researchers in digital mental health, laying the groundwork for potential future collaborations.
