Bergen Tissue Engineering Group in the spotlight
International recognition at IADR 2025
Shuntaro Yamada received the prestigous IADR STAR Network Fellowship Award at the annual congress of the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR).

The University of Bergen was in the spotlight at the 103rd General Session of the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR), held in conjunction with the Pan European Regional Congress in Barcelona.
Postdoctoral fellow Shuntaro Yamada from the University of Bergen was named one of the 2025 recipients of the prestigious IADR STAR Network Fellowship. The award was presented during the Opening Ceremonies and recognizes outstanding early-career researchers in dental, oral, and craniofacial science.
Yamada will carry out his fellowship at the Craniofacial Development and Bone Regeneration Lab at the University of Barcelona, gaining valuable international research experience.

The recognition adds to a string of recent successes for the Bergen Tissue Engineering Group at the Department of Clinical Dentistry (University of Bergen). Previous awardee Åshild Johansen was also acknowledged during the ceremony, and Masoumeh Jahani Kadousarari was awarded a travel grant.
The IADR STAR Network Fellowship aims to bridge global gaps in research and training by supporting young scientists in gaining exposure to leading international labs and academic environments.
