Infrastructure grant from the Research Council of Norway
ATMP Norway
The Research Council of Norway is allocating 1.3 billion NOK to support 28 major projects. The funding goes to new and updated laboratories, equipment, databases and other research infrastructure.
One of the projects selected for funding is "ATMP Norway – A National Multimodal Infrastructure for ATMP", a collaborative initiative between Oslo University Hospital, Haukeland University Hospital, and the University of Oslo. The project aims to establish cutting-edge infrastructure for developing advanced therapies based on genes, tissues, and cells.
In Bergen, the focus will be on establishing a pre-GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) unit, which is critical for early-stage clinical development.
Dr. Anna Pasetto, Director of the Center for Advanced Cell Therapy (ACT) at the Section for Cell Therapy, Division for Cancer Treatment at Oslo University Hospital, serves as the Director of ATMP Norway. The Co-Director is Dr. Einar K. Kristoffersen, Head of the Department of Immunology and Transfusion Medicine at Haukeland University Hospital, Head of the MRCRM, and Professor at the University of Bergen (UiB).
Negotiations with the Research Council of Norway (RCN) are scheduled to begin in November.
