Research, Substance and Addiction Clinic

The Research Section at the Addiction and Dependency Clinic at Haukeland University Hospital works to develop better and more evidence-based treatment for substance addiction. Our research is grounded in clinical issues and the needs of patients and services.

We conduct clinical studies, registry studies, and qualitative research projects. Central themes include medication treatment, patient-reported outcomes, quality of life, mental and physical health, overdoses, and mortality. User involvement is central to the planning and execution of the projects.

The research section collaborates with clinical professional environments, universities, municipal services, and user organisations in Norway and internationally. The section also contributes to teaching, researcher training, and the development of national and international professional networks.
