On March 5th, 2024, the Mohn Research Center for Psychosis Disorders was officially opened, marking a significant advancement in mental health. With severe mental disorders reducing life expectancy by 15-20 years, the centre aims to extend and enhance the lives of affected individuals.

The new Mohn Centre will collaborate closely with the Mohn Research Centre for Regenerative Medicine, where research on brain disorders using hiPSC-derived models aims to improve patient outcomes by predicting antipsychotic response.

Professor Erik Johnsen is the leader of the newly opened Mohn Research Centre for Psychotic Disorders. He will manage the centre together with professors Vidar M. Steen (Clinical Institute 2, UiB) and Ingrid Melle (Oslo University Hospital (OUS)). The research centre is located at the Psychiatric Clinic in Sandviken.
