In this study, we found a moderate to good agreement between self-reported asthma and asthma reported by family members in the RHINESSA generation study. In situations with absence of direct reports, information on asthma in offspring reported by their parents and information on asthma in parents reported by their offspring, can be used as a replacement in both epidemiological studies and in clinical situations before further clinical examination.
