Forskning og samarbeid
Norsk MS-register og biobank er aktiv samarbeidspartner eller har avgitt data og biologisk materiale i en rekke nasjonale og internasjonale forskningsprosjekter, særlig for studier av genetiske og miljømessige risikofaktorer.
Registeret har flere gjennomførte og planlagte prosjekter med koblinger til andre registre som: Norsk Pasientregister, Medisinsk Fødselsregister, Dødsårsaksregisteret, register i Vernepliktsverket (sesjonsdata), og Arbeidsgiver- og arbeidstakerregisteret samt Mor og Barn undersøkelsen. Registeret har også etablert et løpende samarbeid i utviklingen av Norsk Parkinson Register og Biobank.
Registeret er aktiv deltaker i EUReMS – som er et initiativ for utvikling av en EU-finansiert plattform for MS-registre i Europa, for stimulering til etablering av MS-registre i alle europeiske land og for harmonisering av data-innsamling med mulighet for kobling i samarbeidsprosjekter.
Ikke person-identifiserbare data fra registeret kan også leveres til legemiddelindustrien både nasjonalt og internasjonalt etter gjeldende retningslinjer.
Data og biologisk materiale har inngått, eller inngår i, mer enn 15 PhD-prosjekt, og en rekke vitenskapelige publikasjoner basert på data og/eller biologisk materiale fra Norsk MS-register og Biobank, er publisert.
Registeret har et nært samarbeid med Nasjonal kompetansetjeneste for multippel sklerose og MS forskningsgruppe ved Universitetet i Bergen.
