PiV project holds the 6th Stavanger-Bergen meeting
Last week, on April 19th, our PiV (Patologi i Vest) project team gathered once again for a significant meeting in Stavanger.
We were warmly welcomed at Jernaldergården, where not only did we conduct our meeting, but also enjoyed a brief tour.
All project members gave fast-forward presentations, providing concise updates and having the opportunity to seek inputs if needed. It was nice to see our group's steady growth over the years, reflecting the importance and impact of our work. However, it also reminded us of the loss of our dear colleague Friedemann, whose presence we dearly miss. Nevertheless, as life moves forward, so does the work of PiV.
During the meeting, attention was directed towards Monica’s Work package 8, focusing on challenges in securing funding for the center, DADiVest (Datamaskin-assistert diagnostikk i Vest). The team emphasized the importance of building a robust business case to showcase the center’s potential in addressing regional healthcare needs through digital pathology solutions. Discussions highlighted the role of the business case in demonstrating the significance of the center in bridging the gap between research, development, and implementation in digital pathology.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the presence of our guest, Kimmo Kartasalo, joining us all the way from Sweden. Kimmo shared insights from the Karolinska project, particularly focusing on the Prostate Algorithm. His expertise offered valuable perspectives as we navigate our challenges and opportunities.
Overall, the meeting was more than just a gathering; it was a collaborative effort to advance the boundaries of digital pathology and healthcare. Each exchange and presentation bring us closer to our shared goal of making a meaningful difference in the field. Let's continue to cooperate and work towards establishing the DADiVest center. Here's to more productive meetings and impactful collaborations in the future!
