From Breast Cancer AI Research to PiV: Welcome, Selma!
PiV is pleased to welcome Selma to the team in Stavanger. With a background in computer engineering, she will contribute to AI research in pathology and the continued development of ResearchPACS, a key platform for digital pathology research.

Selma joins PiV and will in Stavanger work closely with Emma Rewcastle on the development and evaluation of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia. In addition, she will contribute to the continued development and support of ResearchPACS, an important platform for managing and sharing digital pathology data for research.
Originally from Sandnes, Selma recently completed her degree in Computer Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. During her studies, she also spent a year abroad in France as an exchange student, gaining valuable international experience.
Her master's thesis was carried out in collaboration with a pathologist and focused on the automation of Ki67 detection in breast cancer tissue samples using AI. Through this work, she developed expertise at the intersection of medical image analysis, machine learning, and pathology, making her an excellent addition to the PiV team.
