In this study we measured epigenome-wide CpG site-specific DNA methylation in adolescent and adult offspring and identified six significant differentially methylated regions related to fathers’ smoking. Future studies are needed to explore the intriguing hypothesis that fathers’ exposures might persistently modify their future offspring’s epigenome.
